Who's In The Pride Fleet?

From sleek racers to laid-back cruisers, big or small — all vessels are welcome in the Sydney Pride Regatta, provided they meet the criteria outlined in the racing information section.

Don’t have a racing yacht or only have a powerboat? No problem! You can still be part of the action by registering as a spectator boat and joining the celebration on the Harbour. 🌈⛵

Participation Requirements
All vessels entering the Sydney Pride Regatta must have:

A current Category 7 Safety Certificate
Valid insurance with public liability cover
At least one crew member with a full Australian Sailing membership

Once registered, RANSA will allocate your handicap and provide the official Sailing Instructions.

About Sydney Pride Regatta

Sailing With Pride & Passion

The Sydney Pride Regatta is a vibrant sailing event that launches the Mardi Gras season on the sparkling waters of Sydney Harbour. First held on 14 February 2025, it is set to become an annual twilight tradition — a yacht race

celebrating LGBTQ+ inclusion, visibility, and pride in sport. We welcome all participants, regardless of gender identity or sexuality (including allies), and are committed to the safety and wellbeing of all crew, volunteers and officials.

In its inaugural year, 13 yachts and over 100 sailors proudly flew the rainbow colours, creating a spectacular display of competition, community, and celebration. Organised with RANSA, Greenwich Flying Squadron, and supported by Pride in Sport and Australian Sailing, the regatta combines the thrill of racing with a powerful message of diversity and belonging.

After the race, celebrations continue at the Pride Regatta Village in Rushcutters Bay — with music, food, drinks, and dancing that showcase the joy and spirit at the heart of the event. More than a race, the Sydney Pride Regatta is a growing tradition and an unmissable highlight of Sydney’s Mardi Gras calendar. 🌈⛵

Celebrations at the Pride Regatta Village at RANSA Rushcutters Bay Sydney Pride Regatta

After the race, the celebration comes alive at the Pride Regatta Village, right next to the RANSA clubhouse in Rushcutters Bay. As the yachts return from the iconic Sydney Harbour, join the crews and community for an evening of dinner, drinks, dancing, and stories from the day on the water.
